Better than the DCS-932 for image quality. These cameras are still a "royal pain" to set-up on my WIFI. You'll need some in-depth knowledge of your router & WIFI settings to get these to connect. My 932's fall off the WIFI regularly, while the 942's seems more stable. I will be replacing all of the 932's with these eventually. I am sticking with DLink because of the iPhone app. Otherwise, I may consider a completely different camera brand.

To me, stability is the number one issue since I need it to monitor my systems while I am away for a long time such as months. So far, it has been there for a few weeks and stable. I hope it can do this for months. I don't give 5 starts because the setup did give me big trouble. I have not installed a SD card to perform playback, but I would like to share some idea here. I have bought another camera from other manufacture, which allows me to use its cloud to play back for free. I feel that I am at the mercy of the cloud. If the cloud does not have enough network power and busy, the play back does not work properly. For now, I will always use cameras that save video locally, since not all clouds can afford networks as youtube.
