Reviews

(Prior Review) The pivot pin in the claw fell out the first time I installed the mount on my mountain bike. Once i located the pin and reinstalled it, I was disappointed in how much the Go Pro rattled and jiggled during my ride. Even on relatively smooth pavement the camera wiggled constantly, ruining the footage. This mount would be better if the portion that connects to the camera was not spring mounted to allow rotation. The mount would be fine for a stationary object and the quick release design is handy (if not perfectly executed) but it is unsuitable for applications on moving objects (like handlebars).

(Update) This retailer has reached out to me and indicated that the company intends to address my concerns about the missing dislodging pin. I am impressed by the retailer's prompt response to my concern and reiterate my comment that this mount would be handy for stationary or fixed filming applications (such as a railing perhaps). I still would not recommend this mount for applications where the mount attaches to fast moving objects.
I bought this to attach my GoPro to my handlebars on my Triumph Bonneville when I ride. The flexible joint on top is too weak, flexes too easily, so the camera wobbles too much when I ride. It's basically useless except for short clips or very smooth patches of road.
Okay. The product is Delivered Quickly, a Plus. It looks kind of unweildly, and it is, but it actually grips quite well once on the bars. The problem is a not very well thought out mechinism for the actual swivel assemblies attaching to the actual vise. It is very loose and prone to jiggling and vibrating vigoursly while riding. If you are stationary, I guess it's fine, but if you are moving at all, no matter how slow and its a mildly uneven surface, the mount moves around way too much. And given that the whole assembly is plastic, it WILL eventualy break. It hasn't yet, but I can't see how the stress involved wouldn't break that junction point. There is no way to tighten it, and even after taking it apart and shaving a millimeter off of the teeth to allow it to sit deeper, it is still is very loose. But all that said, it would work for a good while before failure, and that would be somewhat acceptable if not for the elbow attachment being loose as well. No matter how hard its tightened. And all of this is due to the length of the assembly above the vice and the weight of the device attached to it, combining to really cause the Mount to be unstable. I give it 2 stars because the concept isn't completely horrible, just not very well designed considering the stresses the weight of the device and the conditions its designed for will put it through. If you use this product, eventually it will fail. As well, depending on which joint actually fails first, is whether or not you are buying a new device as well. And that's not even describing how if you are actually using this for a Camera (I used it as a bluetooth speaker mount) how absolutely horrid your pictures or videos will turn out. -James
