Reviews

Just returned my order. It needed +20 focus adjustment to get a reasonable sharpness on my D3S, which is too much for its reputation. Maybe it's a bad copy. I'll order a new one when available.
Excellent portrait photography lens but the performance in a DX body (like my D300s) is hampered by the change in field of view coresponding to that of a 127 mm lense. This means it is going to be difficult to use this, for example in a birthday party, as you have to step back so far away from your subject that somebody or something is likely to get in the way between camera and the subject. This assumes you have enough room to back up. If there is any emphasis on the background and environment, I recommend a different lense, one with a wider field of view but large fixed aperture such as the cheap 50mm/1.8 or 1.4, for indoor photography.
