This is a great value for your money.
I bought this exact watch in Dubai when I was stationed in Iraq. I at the time just needed a watch as my old one ran down needed a battery and it was not easy locating a battery so I saw this watch and had in my life growing up having different Seiko watches but they too needed battery's which just got left in draws after they too ran down. So when I saw this watch I was drawn to the deep blue of the watch and the fact it was a canvas band not rubber or mettale I asked too see it tried it on bought it and wore it for two years over their in sand heat rain sand storms freezing cold nights and even hard terrains and heavy gun fire which the shaking kept the watch wound that I never worried was my watch working or not! Now even then in Dubai I only spent $50.00 US and it had either Elglish or Arabic for the day of the week with the date. I'm not sure what other language other than English is available for day of the week? But this is a tough watch and other than the leather strip that you push the pin thru to keep the watch fixed to your wrist. That leather piece came off and lots of blue strings that sewed it to the band that came apart just after two years of sweating and never taking it off, so showering with it and the type of abuse it was put threw I can't complain. I left the watch at my parents house and my dad found it asked me about it I told him if he wanted it he could have it. He replaced the band with a metal watch band as he says now he's hit seventy the bigger watches he use to wear are just too heavy on his wrist and he says this watch is the right weight and he likes the size. We had breakfast the other morning and he had that watch on and he said he has a desk drawer full of watches that all need watch batteries and the watch I gave him being self winding he likes, and it's not a automatic that you have to worry about winding either and he likes that too. He took it off to show me the watch with the new watch band he put on it and I looked at the face and even the clear back it had no scratches on the area you see threw front or back. Now the watch case had some scratches but my dad said the watch dealer cleaned the dirt and sand away before replacing the band, and too tell the truth looking back on the history of wearing that watch is a mericle it looks as good as does. I know it's not a expensive Fortis or Oris two watches I own and the Oris I wear daily and yet is it going to last as long as the Seiko? Could I put the Oris threw the same punishment? I hear my unit might be called back to the Middle East, I suppose I might get a chance to see? But weather you pay fity dollars or two-thousand or more on a watch, the watch is only worth something if it works! This watch a Military Staff. SGT. MEF Unit stands by this Seiko it held up, and the price you can't go wrong. If your wanting a large watch or a heavy watch this watch is not for you. If you want a watch that is light slim fits under long sleeves want get cought on clothing and and taking a hell of a beating working hard or even just as a every day watch this watch is for you. If your a woman and like the color blue this watch you might like it's not a watch that truly States a certain type of gender. I hope this helps in determining weather you would like this watch?
