So, I have had the Vivofit 3 for a little over a week now and have mixed feelings on it. I ordered the Vivofit 3 since I wanted to upgrade from my Vivofit 1 (original). Vivofit 3 had some cool features that I really wanted: MoveIQ, Auto-sync, light-up display, audio move reminder, etc.

As a step counter, it works fabulous. MoveIQ doesn't seem to work correctly for me. I rode my bike twice for at least 20 minutes this last week and it didn't count any of them as riding my bike. It did recognize when I walked fast for intensity minutes. I haven't yet tried swimming or running with it. But I really wanted this upgrade for it to recognize my bike rides...which it did not. There is no type of adjustment or sampling to have it recognize biking correctly. It just doesn't work for me.

Additionally, there appears to be some display issues...or I have a defective unit. The top movement bar displays dots first thing in the morning and won't disappear until the movement bar starts working after you get to your normal wakeup time...or if you press the watch button to show another item. I also seen it once blur the time all the way to the top red movement area...which pressing the button fixed it. I'm hoping this can be fixed with a firmware update.

What do I like?
The audio movement reminder is handy. We always don't stare at our watches waiting for the red movement bar to light up (at least I hope you don't!). The audio is quiet and doesn't draw attention in a business environment.
The locking band does take a little bit of getting accustomed to using, but once it is locked, you feel good knowing that the watch won't just fall off your wrist.
When you reach your walking goal, it informs you along with fireworks! Fun stuff!
Using the watch with the Garmin Connect app is a must. It shows you tons of data and I like that you can join challenges.

What I don't like:
MoveIQ isn't working correctly for me (see above)
Display issues (see above)
No method to view your biking, running, intensity steps, swimming, etc. directly on the watch itself.
Watch seems to sync often (once an hour) to the ANT USB adapter I have...which will reduce my battery life. I have it set to limited sync.

I'll give it more time to see if anything gets fixed or improved at which point I'll change my rating.
