After buying and using my new D3300 packaged with the 18-55MM kit lens and the 55-200mm zoom on a trip, I realized I wanted one lens to carry not two. This seemed to fit the bill. I haven't used it extensively but my initial impression is this is a very good single walk-around lens for the price. It arrived packaged well and appeared to be in perfect condition. Sold as certified reconditioned but no mention of who certified, who reconditioned, and to what standard. Nevertheless, my initial photos turned out beautifully. Weight is pretty good, lighter than my old film camera zoom in this zoom range. Autofocus and zoom are smooth. Wish this lens had the lock setting of my new VR II lenses. So far I'm quite happy with the purchase.
Super stoked with this lens. The quality and clarity of the pics are incredible and I love the anti shake feature! I've read comments that it's heavier that the original 18-50mm lens it comes with ... of course it is, it's a bigger lens!?! I'm a budding recreational female photographer who weights 115lbs and it's not too heavy for me at all, it feels comfortable and sturdy in my hands. Definitely beats having to switch out lenses from a 55mm to a 200mm, and the difference between 200mm & 140mm isn't that huge, if you ask me. A professional photographer might beg to differ, but it's quite minimal.
