Description

The SPRINT MINI II is designed for the traveler in need of camera support larger than a table-top tripod, but smaller than a full sized Its a very compact tripod with 4 legs sections to collapse down to less than 14 inches and weighs just 1.75 lbs. An updated version of one of the popular SLIK SPRINT series, the new SPRINT MINI II GM (gun metal finish) has padded leg wraps for more comfortable carrying. The new tripod also has a new SLIK SBH-100DQ all-metal compact ball head with quick release system for faster, easier mounting of a camera. The SPRINT MINI II GM is small when fully collapsed, but a maximum height of 43.3 in. The adjustable leg angles can be used to splay the legs out and lower the tripod. When used with the built-in short center column, (the included center column unscrews into two pieces) the camera is just 6.4 inches off the ground for extremely low angle or macro photography out in the field. Another way to get the camera low is to reverse the center column that can be used for macro photography as well.

A Nice and Light Travel tripod... I usually buy Manfrotto tripods...but couldn't find something in this price point with the same quality and weight... We went to Mexico and I needed something light to carry around the ruins. I took a chance on a new brand (to me) and wasn't disappointed. I use a Nikon d7000 and my travel lenses are the 18-200mm VR and the 70-300mm VR which are both quite heavy glass and the tripod held them with ease... The build quality is excellent, with the head being particularly good. I used it on the beach for low light sunset shots, some crazy angled shots in the ruins (as the legs have two positions). It is a great light travel tripod and I recommend it as that...
This is a great tripod. It took a few others till I found this one. The weight is Ideal for my travel pack. I mean ideal 2.3 lbs trumps 3.12 lbs that I was trying to lug around. It has a single lock ball head that is a little tricky, but they added levels on the 2 axis's that really make it simple. Anyone that has fiddled with a single lock ball head knows what I am referring too. The legs flex a bit, but I love this tripod and added a hook under the center column to hang some weight if I need to stabilize it more. It's rated at 4.6 lbs capacity and I believe this to be true. Just a word of caution in this regard, A camera body and long lens may weigh "X" on a postal scale, but the leverage affect of that long lens really ratchets the weight up. This may not be the best chose for you if that is the case. but works fine for my every day 18-200mm lens. Of course your mileage may vary, my intent is to keep you from having a collection like I do.
